History of the AICH

The American Indian Center of Houston was established by the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of Louisiana to address the need for programs and services for the estimated 70,000 Native Americans in the greater Houston area.

We held our Grand Opening on February 29, 2020 with the mission of enhancing the AI/AN  community through social, personal, health and cultural development.

Since our grand opening, we have welcomed the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe of TX and Institute for Indian Development to join in our efforts.

The American Indian Center of Houston is established as a Section 7871 nonprofit.
